The WRANGLER Horse & Rodeo News is seeking an Advertising Sales Coordinator to join our team. This position will be responsible for procuring new advertising accounts, account management, and working directly with our editor on ad placements in our monthly publication. While this is a remote position, candidates in Montana or Wyoming are preferred as it may be necessary to work as a field rep during sponsored events.
A successful candidate will have a clear understanding of print and digital advertising, pride themselves on clear communication tactics, and shows a passion for the horse & rodeo industry. We are looking for an organized self-starter who feels comfortable with (or a willingness to learn about) print advertising (ROP, inserts, special sections) and digital advertising on multiple platforms (display, mobile, social, e-mail, and search).
Because you will be in contact with current and prospective customers, the ad sales coordinator is in a key position to influence their satisfaction, so the position requires tact, sensitivity, and professionalism.
Duties
Identify prospects, customers, and referral sources and develop/maintain relationships while supporting efforts to continuously grow this base.
Manage and resolve advertisers’ needs and requirements – you will be the first contact for advertiser accounts
Organize and manage advertiser information using our CRM
Coordinate with our editor on ad placement during monthly publication prep
Qualifications
Strong verbal and written communication skills
A self-starter attitude, willingness to make new connections
A sense of urgency and ability to work under tight deadlines
Organization and detail-oriented
Horse and rodeo industry background is a plus
Compensation
Pay for this position pays $15/hour in training. Pay is based on Ad Commission, no commission cap.
